The Hawaii Isle Dressage and Eventing Association will hold a hunter jumper show and fun day today at Panaewa Equestrian Center.

The event starts at 8:30 a.m. and late entries will still be accepted.

Japanese Chamber golf tournament

The 15th annual Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hawaii Golf Classic will be held March 5 at Hilo Municipal Golf Course.

The registration is $300 per team (two-person scramble), which includes green/cart fees, lunch and prizes. Registration is at 10 a.m. with an 11 a.m. shotgun start.

There are a variety of sponsorship’s available: Ozeiki ($1,500 donation, includes three team of two golfers, each player will receive a special tournament polo shirt,company logo on banner and promotional materials, and a placard sign displaying your company logo; Sekiwaki ($275 donation, includes single golf entry fee, and a placard sign displaying company logo); Komusubi ($150 donation, a placard sign displaying company logo).

UHH tennis benefit on tap

University of Hawaii at Hilo tennis team will play exhibition matches Feb. 8 at the Waterfalling Estate in Ninole as a benefit fundraiser for the Richard and Ruth Matsuura Vulcan Tennis Endowed Scholarship.

The event will run from 3-6 p.m. and feature a best-of-five world team tennis competition, along with light pupus and live music by Lito Arkangel.

“This endowment will help us work toward a fully-funded future for Vulcan Tennis,” said UHH coach Karl Sloss, who is also a volunteer member of Hui Kako`o Kenika, a nonprofit organization that promotes tennis on the Big Island.

BIIF seeks water polo officials

The Big Island Interscholastic Federation is seeking water polo officials for the spring season. Experience is not required and officiating classes will be offered.

Golf tourney at Hapuna Beach

The Inaugural Hapuna Big Game Golf Tournament on Feb. 2 will start at 7:30 a.m. with a four-person scramble, followed by lunch buffet and big-screen viewing of the Super Bowl.

Hole-in-one

Lloyd Toriano fired a hole-in-one Jan. 19 on the 163-yard 13th hole using a 7-iron at Hilo Municipal Golf Course. Ed Mangibin, Russell Paiva, Eric Tao and Paul Moon witnessed Toriano’s second ace.
